Beauty Independent And Amazon Collaborate On 1-Day Event: Amazon Beauty Selling Partners Summit

Beauty Independent has collaborated with Amazon to present Amazon Beauty Selling Partners Summit.

The one-day summit will feature a lineup of Amazon leaders representing important functions from across the organization that support Amazon brand partners in beauty and wellness. The event will focus on how to drive customer engagement and brand growth in the Amazon Beauty Store, from content creation to advertising and fulfillment.

“Amazon has become a key retailer for almost every beauty and wellness brand of note. Amazon’s customer base and range of services provide brand-builders with a truly unique opportunity to reach and engage a large, diverse and engaged customer base. The question is no longer whether to be on Amazon, but when and how to best do so,” says Nader Naeymi-Rad, founder and publisher of Beauty Independent. “But like any channel, effectively leveraging Amazon requires a baseline of knowledge, and we believe no one is better qualified to provide this knowledge than Amazon.”

Panels and presentations will cover best practices and future opportunities for brands selling in Amazon’s store. Highlighted speakers include:

  • Christine Beauchamp, SVP of North America stores at Amazon, will share a big picture overview of Amazon’s business, macro trends and opportunities.
  • Sam Heyworth, VP of consumables, will cover the culture of Amazon, how Amazon’s scale leads to unique force multiplying impact and spotlight the shift from “everything store” to “everyday store.”
  • Melis del Rey, GM of U.S. stores, beauty, baby and beauty technology, will address the growth of the Amazon beauty business and the significance of beauty to Amazon.
  • Carmen Nestares Pleguezuelo, VP of North America marketing and Prime technology, will cover the many ways Amazon is engaging with beauty customers.
  • Meredith Silver, director of creator growth and worldwide events at Amazon, will dive into working with Amazon creators, affiliate programs and Amazon Inspire, an in-app shopping feed that’s personalized with shoppable photos and videos–to drive traffic and increase conversion.
  • Naeymi-Rad will moderate a panel of executives, including Megan Grant, president of luxe division at L’Oréal, and Kory Marchisotto, CMO at E.l.f. Beauty and president at Keys Soulcare, regarding their successes and lessons learned with Amazon.

Other key members of Amazon’s team will lead discussions addressing how brands can save time, reduce costs and simplify operations with Amazon logistics and what is in the future for supply chain, demand generation and brand building in Amazon stores.

“Our vision is to make Amazon the most-trusted beauty destination, offering an unlimited selection of premium and everyday products,” says del Rey. “Beauty is one of the fastest-growing categories in the Amazon online store, and this event is all about how Amazon Beauty and the brands in our store can work together to bring customers the inspiring shopping experiences that will keep up that momentum in the years to come.”

Projected by some to become the largest beauty retailer in the United States by 2025, Amazon has already carved out a 14.5% share of the beauty market, according to Morgan Stanley. Still, selling and succeeding in Amazon’s store requires diligence, even for the most digitally savvy brands.

Beauty Independent recognized the impact of Amazon in beauty early on by dedicating a five-part series about selling at Amazon Beauty. According to Jane Carlson, managing editor at Beauty Independent, the growing range of options available on Amazon’s store and increased competition in beauty demanded a more direct approach.

“We have covered Amazon extensively, but felt the most important voice missing was Amazon’s own,” she says. We are excited to leverage Beauty Independent’s expertise in content-led events to produce a summit that will provide a clear, comprehensive and concise overview of Amazon in beauty and wellness and the different ways brand leaders can drive growth with Amazon.”

The Amazon Beauty Selling Partners Summit 2024 will draw a wide array of attendees, including senior executives and leaders across the beauty industry from large established brands and young emerging brands. The summit is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 25 at Convene in New York City’s financial district. Limited tickets are available for purchase here.
